This is perhaps more rare than hens teeth. It's something that very few
motorcyclists will ever see much less achieve and it's near impossible
to put a price on. Yes, the holy grail of motorcycling culture is up
for auction.
That's right, I'm talking about an actual broken in
Aerostich Roadcrafter riding suit. I'm not talking about just the
leaking crotch - no, even the new suits do that so don't think you're
special. I'm talking about something you can't buy that this suit will
give you - Respect! If you show up to a BMW rally with a
paltry 30,000 or 50,000 miles on your bike you know you're still a
newbie and so does everyone else. Your newness and naivety are like an
HID beacon across a crowded rally campground at 3AM. You thought owning
a BMW would be enough to make you a "real" motorcyclist. Hardly. It
takes years and miles that you don't have time for. It's a harsh
reality but I'm here to help you.
This suit fits like an old shoe, it has well over 200,000 miles, the
velcro is either missing or so worn you can't tell which side is which.
The balistic patches are faded and it leaks at the crotch despite being
seam sealed. It's on it's third set of zippers. It feels like home.
This suit has so much street cred you could ride in on a god damn
Ducati and get respect. Respect you don't deserve but now can buy.
Sure, you could buy a new suit but unless you're job is riding you
could die before that damned nylon stops feeling like cardboard and you
crinkle like a paper bag when you get off the bike. Who has time for
that?
I'm 5'9" and I'm 150lbs. It fits perfect. You could be a little shorter
than me and a little lighter than me but not any bigger in either
dimension. Go ahead and treat yourself to something that, until this
glorious day, you couldn't purchase with any
amount of money, something that your yupppie, Bimota owning ass
couldn't achieve if you owned the actual Triumph Bud Ekins used in The
Great Escape. Provided you keep your mouth shut this suit will get you
the respect you crave and you can't put a price on that now - or can
you?
